Your data, in plain English
Most of BetCalculus runs entirely in your browser and we never see what you type. This page explains the few things we do store, why we store them, and how to get them deleted.
Last updated 6 November 2026
The short version
- No advertising or tracking cookies, and no analytics scripts.
- The calculators and Reality Check work on your device. Your bets aren’t sent to us.
- We only store bets if you’re a Pro member and you press Save. You can delete them any time.
- Stripe handles payments. We never see your card details.
- Questions or requests: [email protected].
Who we are
BetCalculus (betcalculus.com) is responsible for your data under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). Contact us at [email protected].
Calculators and Reality Check
Every calculator, and Reality Check’s analysis and staking plan comparisons, run in your browser. The bets you type, paste or upload are processed on your device and aren’t sent to our servers. They disappear when you close or reload the page, unless you save them to a Pro account (see below).
Share links and images
When you press Share my results, your device makes an image and a link. The link contains only the summary on the card:
- the number of bets
- percentages such as yield and win rate
- the shape of your profit chart
- staking plan results
- £ totals, but only if you tick the box to show them
It never contains your individual bets. We don’t store share links. Anyone you give a link to can open it, so only share what you’re happy for others to see.
Pro saved bet books
If you have Pro and are signed in, you can save bets to your account. We only store them when you press Save or Add these bets. Nothing is saved automatically.
Saved books are stored with our hosting provider, Cloudflare, linked to your Stripe customer reference. Only you can see them when you’re signed in. They contain what was in your bet list:
- dates, selections, odds, stakes and results
- your own win probabilities and notes, if you added them
You can delete a single book, or use Delete all my saved data on the Reality Check page to remove all of them straight away.
Signing in (Pro)
- To sign in, you enter your email address. We check with Stripe that it belongs to an active Pro subscription. If it does, we email you a sign-in link.
- The link works once and expires after 15 minutes.
- Signing in sets one cookie,
bc_session. It keeps you signed in for 30 days, can’t be read by scripts on the page, and is only sent over secure connections. Signing out removes it. - To stop people sending lots of sign-in emails, we keep a short-lived count of requests, linked to a scrambled (hashed) version of your email address and IP address. These counts are deleted automatically after 15 minutes.
- We keep a record of the most recent sign-in email sent (time, whether it was sent, and the delivery reference) for up to 24 hours, to fix delivery problems. It doesn’t include your address.
Sign-in emails are sent through Cloudflare’s email service. We don’t use your email address for marketing unless you join the newsletter.
Payments
Pro payments are handled by Stripe. You enter your card details on Stripe’s pages, and we never see or store them. Stripe tells us your customer reference, email address, plan and subscription status, so we can switch Pro on and off. Stripe’s own privacy policy applies to the payment itself. You can manage or cancel your subscription from the Pro dashboard.
Newsletter
If you subscribe, your email address is sent to Beehiiv, the service we use to run the newsletter, along with where you signed up on the site. You can unsubscribe from any email. The newsletter is currently paused.
Storage on your device
Besides the sign-in cookie, the site saves a few small things in your browser’s own storage so Pro features work:
- whether Pro is unlocked on this device
- your Stripe customer reference, plan and checkout reference
- any bonus packs you save in the Pro dashboard
- a note that we’ve checked your sign-in during this visit
These stay on your device. Clearing your browser’s site data removes them.
Cookies and analytics
We don’t use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or analytics tools. The only cookie is the Pro sign-in cookie described above. It’s strictly necessary for signing in, so we don’t ask for consent.
Like any website, our hosting provider Cloudflare processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.
Who processes data for us
- Cloudflare: hosting, security, saved bet books, sign-in emails.
- Stripe: payments and subscriptions.
- Beehiiv: the newsletter.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. When they do, they use the legal safeguards UK law requires.
Why we’re allowed to use it
- To run your Pro subscription, sign you in and save bet books you ask us to save: to provide the service you signed up for.
- Rate limits and security: our legitimate interest in keeping the site safe.
- Newsletter: your consent, which you can withdraw by unsubscribing.
How long we keep it
- Saved bet books: until you delete them, or until you ask us to delete your account data.
- Sign-in links: 15 minutes.
- Sign-in request counts: 15 minutes.
- Last-email record: 24 hours.
- Sign-in cookie: 30 days, or until you sign out.
- Payment and subscription records: held by Stripe as long as the law requires.
- Newsletter subscription: until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to see the data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, or get a copy to take elsewhere. Email [email protected] and we’ll reply within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We’d appreciate the chance to put it right first.
18+ and safer gambling
BetCalculus is for adults aged 18 and over. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If betting stops being fun, help is free and confidential: BeGambleAware.org, National Gambling Helpline 0808 8020 133, or self-exclude from all UK gambling sites at GAMSTOP.
Changes
If we change what we collect, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
